At Lake Mountain Doodle we start the creation of the best puppies on the planet by breeding only the most healthy dogs. We Health test our dogs and make sure their partners have their genetic testing cleared and health certificates. Great puppies start with the best genetics possible! After pups are born we run them through the riggers of training to become the best dogs possible. We start our training at 3 days old when we begin developing their nervous system by a series of touch based movements called Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS). These protocols were developed by the US military as part of their "Super Pup" initiative to try and train the most adaptable dogs who would be able to develop and train as military service dogs. Good breeders know about these protocols, some do them, and others stop here (or don't think this is important and skip it) and think the training is over, be we have just begun. After the pups have gone through this 2 week stimulation, we then move on to sound desensitization to help them get used to household sounds, as well as sounds that may be startling to a new pup. When the pups become startled, we begin an aggressive form of sound desensitization to help build their startle/recovery reflexes and help them build positive emotional responses. We also continue with a 12 point touch desensitization that help them build positive association with being handled by humans. As they begin to toddle around, we begin potty training, which will last until they leave our home. At this time we also take them out of their whelping box one at a time to begin to waken their senses to a larger world around them, and introduce them into alone time without their litter mates. While all of these other training exercises are going on, we are also building their confidence with smaller challenges every day and begin to introduce them to the concept of a clicker and the idea of getting a treat for displaying certain wanted types of behaviors and beginning to explore and be curious about the world around them. These small training sessions build confidence and allow us, as watchful breeders, to know which pups may have negative emotional responses so we can begin to address them while they are here and help them gain positive self-assurance. Other activities that we have not included above, which are critical, are birthing puppies, round the clock puppy watch after birth, regular dewormings on a 2 week schedule, giving first shots, removing dew-claws, the constant laundering and cleaning of enclosures, regular bathing and grooming desensitization, weekly nail trimmings, weaning (if a breeder sends your puppy home on wet dog food or still nursing....RUN!), kennel training, sleeping through the night, recall training, maternal care...and the list could go on...
Pricing for our Puppies is based off of Breed and size. Because all of our pups are so expertly trained, we do not differentiate according to color because every puppy produced here at Lake Mountain Doodle will have the best temperaments, and that is what really counts!
