What started as a deep love for dogs and a desire to do things the right way grew into something so much bigger than I ever imagined. Together, we created more than just beautiful puppies—we created companions who heal, connect, and bring light into the lives of the people who love them. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to raise these dogs, to pour intention into their earliest days, and to walk alongside so many incredible families as they welcomed them home. Making Poppy part of our family was one of the best decisions we have ever made. She really has been a blessing and a delight. As we look around at the experiences of others and our own past experiences we can see that having a puppy can be a really great experience or it can be a bit of a disaster. Good breeding, good training and good temperament are really key to having a great experience with a puppy and Lake Mountain Doodle really excels at all three. Poppy is a beautiful, sweet, loving and obedient pup. She came to us fully potty trained and crate trained and trained in many other ways. She has been a pure delight!
It would be accurate to say that my husband and I were some of those ‘least likely to ever get a pet’ kind of people before getting our sweet Poppy. I really never had any desire to get a pet and my husband didn’t want the hassle. We got Poppy for our daughter with a degree of trepidation and anxiety but we have been happily surprised with what a great experience having a puppy has been. Poppy has won our hearts and we couldn’t imagine life without her now. She is truly an important part of our family and she goes almost everywhere with us.
She has been such a blessing!
I watch my husband come home from a long, stressful day at the office and when our cute puppy greets him with excitement at the door I watch as the stress and worry dissolves into smiles and a relaxed feeling as he plays with Poppy. He is much more relaxed now and Poppy’s biggest fan. He takes her on mini visits to his office and everyone loves her! She is cute, soft, docile and well behaved! He loves taking her on walks.
I am converted. I’ve seen this light. I went from never wanting a dog to trying to decide when to get a second pup.
The biggest benefit has been for our 21-year-old daughter who has bravely faced a lifetime of a painful and crippling disease - juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Poppy has been a great comfort and amazingly loving fur friend and great distraction from pain for her. As her regular places of exercise and physical therapy have been limited or closed due to covid, Poppy has provided lots of opportunity for activity and exercise for her. When she went to her 3 month check up after having a total shoulder replacement, her doctor was surprised at how well she was doing and said she didn’t need physical therapy! Poppy is such a blessing in so many ways!
During the pandemic we have turned almost exclusively to online shopping and curbside pick up. Everyone we have encountered at the curbside pickup is happy to see Poppy. One girl at the Target pick up told us that whenever she sees an order for us she volunteers to bring it out so she can visit Poppy. She has even started carrying treats in her vest pocket for puppies. Poppy is loved by all who meet her. She is really an exceptional pup.
Heather at LMD has been a great resource to us and a great friend in helping and supporting us in our puppy adventure. I wholeheartedly recommend Lake Mountain Doodle. Poppy is a future puppy mama for Lake Mountain Doodle. We’re excited to see her pups one day.

We could not have asked for a better dog than Toni, and a lot of thanks to Heather and Lake Mountain Doodle for that. Not only is Toni the cutest dog ever, but he came to us potty-trained, crate trained, people trained, and obedient. Toni was completely pee-pad trained, and did not have a single accident in his first week of living with us. He has always slept through the night in his crate (with the exception of the first night where he woke up only 2 times). He is friendly with other animals as well as people of all ages (younger cousins to older grandparents). He knew to sit before getting a treat and you could tell he was listening/observing when you were interacting with him.
Our family has had many dogs over the years and we all agree that Heather was the best breeder we’ve ever encountered. Heather gave us daily updates on Instagram of the puppies’ progress. She gave us a full personality overview, and you could tell that she really loves what she does and truly cares about each and every puppy that she raises. She was responsive to every question we asked. 10/10 would recommend Heather to anybody looking for a new puppy. She knows what she is doing and is truly a fantastic person to work with, and not to mention, the puppies are perfect.

We recently purchased our 1st dog from Heather at Lake Mountain Doodle in December of 2020. As a family we were hesitant to venture into the world of K9 ownership and had worries about getting the right dog.
Our experience with Heather has been nothing but exceptional! She talked us through our fears and was great about posting videos and content about our dog (Talus). It was readily apparent that significant training had gone into the litter before ‘pick up’ day. From day one we had a wonderful dog that slept through the night in his crate and has slept through the night ever since! We now are two months in and potty training, following simple commands, and a pleasant temperament (including when being ‘loved’ by our 4 year old) have all been accomplished.

The training begins soon after the arrival of the litter and continues until the puppies go to their homes. Heather communicated with us frequently during the gestation period, the communication continued until after the puppies were born, and the communication went on until she delivered us our puppy. With our puppy we received an organized file with vaccination records and documents that contained answers to frequently asked questions about raising puppies. Heather posts puppy training videos that are concise and easy to follow, these videos have been a huge help in training our newest family member. If your considering bringing a puppy into your life and you want a dog that is loving and has a gentle temperament I would strongly recommend working with Lake Mountain Doodle. I was very impressed by the professionalism by Heather. Heather was amazing and went above and beyond with answering my questions. She also setup a video chat for me to see the puppies. When I met Heather and her husband at the airport, they were so kind. You can see they really love what they do.
